Seven design decisions that improve readability without breaking parsing.

For headings or a single rule. Two or more colors reads as template, not document.

A bold heading and a regular body use the same font. Two fonts is almost always one too many.

Space between sections is what makes a resume scannable. Don't fill it. Let it breathe.

Icons and photos don't survive ATS well and rarely earn their space on a resume.

Same margin on all sides. Even if your content doesn't fill the page, the border should be consistent.

A thin underline is the simplest way to organize sections visually. No icons needed.
